Second Life Spotlight - 0magika0

Today, attention is focused on 0magika0, the creator behind Angel Purple, an original series of machinima in Second Life inspired by love, music, magic and the bonds that connect souls through worlds and lives.

How long have you been in Second Life, and how did you hear about this for the first time?

0magika0 has been in Second Life since 2006. He played mostly for fun, with a few breaks along the way. Your avatar, 0magika0, is four now. He discovered the platform through a friend who was already playing.

When did you start creating machinima in Second Life, and what drew you into this way of telling stories?

He started creating machinima in 2025, so he's too young for him! What attracted him most is that Second Life allows him to create exactly what he sees in his head. The possibilities are endless: personalization, textures, mesh, construction... everything is created by Residents. He finally could imagine and bring to life all his drawings, stories and ideas exactly how he viewed them and wrote them in his mind. It was a dream to create a totally personalized world.

What inspired you to create _Angel Purple_? How did the idea come up for the first time, and how would you describe your world and themes?

Angel Purple was born out of the love he has for his partner. They met in Second Life and have been together for almost 12 years. They're inseparable, and he's forever in love with him.

At first, he made small videos of his partner singing, just for them, staging him in small scenes. As you always loved writing stories, filming and creating videos, this naturally grew to become a series. Angel Purple tells the story of two souls who meet through worlds and lives, united forever, and gathered together on Earth to live this human experience together.

The world of the series is magical, paranormal, psychedelic, sometimes strange, full of music, love and sorcery. His true love story, his inner magic and his paranormal experiences inspired him.

Almanzo and his partner are quite wild; they prefer animals and, although they love people, they often find cruelty. They remain faithful to themselves and struggle to understand a world full of injustice and cruelty. Being together feels right, and that also contributed to creating their universe. Maybe the show is their way of opening up to the world, but only in positive ways.

Almanzo works alone in _Angel Purple_, or are there other Residents who help with filming, voices, music or ideas?

He works in Angel Purple with his partner, Almanz0. They create everything together: scripts, music, voices and scenes.

Sometimes they invite extras or friends to join and share their universe.

As for the voices: Almanzo sings to his partner, but he is shy and a little wild. Once you know someone's watching, you can't sing. They work a little in secret, a little like Daft Punk, of which he is a fan and whose music inspired them. The partner takes his recordings and modifies and arranges his voice to bring the characters to life. For some voices, she also uses Voicemod to create different personalities, adjusting everything manually.

The song is created and played by them with real instruments, then remixed through BandLab. The lyrics are written by them, and part of the song comes from Mubert.

Season 1 of _Angel Purple_ includes eight episodes. How was it bringing this first season to life?

Season 1 began very spontaneously, almost carelessly. They had a little terrain, full of bugs, and their partner didn't know what she was doing. But the passion and ♪ love ♪ They kept her motivated.

Seeing the reactions of friends, family and spectators motivated her. They went ahead, improving episode by episode. The partner wrote, recorded dialogues and set up everything with CapCut. She had prepared a lot of music in advance, each track connected to the episode and often containing hidden messages. Everything came together naturally, as if everything they had collected over the years was destined to finally meet.

With Season 2 approaching, what can viewers expect next, and when do they expect to launch the next episode?

For Season 2, the world changes. The magical pact linked to witchcraft, giving people the living talents of Angel Purple artists, will be much more present.

There will be more magic and witchcraft. The characters will face losses, doubts and challenges, sometimes manipulated by demons. Magika and Almanzo will begin to remember fragments and synchronicities of their past lives. More drama, hope, dreams and magic are expected, exploring the complexity of the characters and their relationships.

What has been the most rewarding part of creating an original series in Second Life so far?

The most rewarding part is finishing an episode and seeing the reactions of the viewers. When they are totally immersed, loving or hating the characters, that means that the story has touched them.

He's a fan of The Walking Dead, and Angel Purple is inspired by it: instead of zombies, there are demons. The characters must fight, form small groups and survive, but love and kindness remain their strength.
