Lipe Fontes' life at Second Life began in 2007, moved by curiosity and the desire to know that new universe. At first, as with many people, he gradually discovered everything: places, people, parties, music and the countless possibilities that SL offered. In time, Second Life ceased to be just a virtual world and became a space for coexistence, friendship and creation. It was there that Lipe built friendships that overcame the screen and that he leads to real life to this day. After 16 years away from SL in 2022, a friend encouraged him to return. And it was in that return that a new story began. DJ Lipe Fontes was born just from his passion for music. Today, Lipe is not just an avatar who puts songs to play: it has become an artistic identity. It is through it that you can show your musical tastes, create your sets, produce copyright music and mainly connect with people through music.

The DJ Lipe Fontes work began, first of all, for the love of music. He always liked to search, discover different versions and imagine what could work on a track. Until, at some point, instead of just listening to other DJs, the will arose: why not create your own sets? At first came that natural insecurity of those who are learning: understanding VirtualDJ, stream, transitions, musical programming and, at the same time, something that no tool teaches alone — feel the audience and understand the clue. In time, Lipe learned, experimented and found his own identity. Today, one of the features of DJ Lipe Fontes is precisely musical freedom. It goes through various styles: rock, pagoda, sertanejo, forró, electronic, Afro House, among others. For him, not being stuck with a single genre makes each experience different. And that passion ended up over Second Life. Lipe has been studying and deepening more and more in the music universe. As always a very musical person and believes that life without music would be very boring, what started within SL has aroused new ideas and has also become a hobby in real life.

For Lipe, one of the biggest obstacles in this segment is to understand that being a DJ is not simply to tighten the play. You need to search repertoire, prepare set, get to know the equipment and programs well, have a good connection and be prepared to solve technical problems when they appear. There is another great challenge: to win the audience. There are many DJs at Second Life, so it's not enough just to play good songs. You have to build an identity, until you get to the point where someone looks at a house's schedule, see “DJ Lipe Fontes” and think, “I want to go, because I know what he delivers.” And it’s just this exchange with the people that motivates Lipe the most. Seeing the audience coming, participating, enjoying the sets and growing more and more has been a very special experience. He's really very happy with everything that's been going on and the way he's building inside the music.

For those who are starting, Lipe's message is simple: start. Don't expect to have the best equipment, the perfect avatar or to meet everyone. The important thing is to learn the show, listen to a lot of music, watch other DJs, prepare sets and accept that at first mistakes will happen. Every DJ has already missed a ticket, made a bad transition or faced some technical problem. But it's not worth trying to be a copy of someone else either. For Lipe, the most important thing is to find out what he really likes to play and then build his own identity. Respecting the public, the owners of the houses, the hosts and, especially, the other DJs is also part of this walk. Technique is learned. Directory's up. Equipment improves.
