The radio history in Brazil officially began on September 7, 1922, with the transmission of the speech of President Epitácio Pessoa during the centenary of Independence. Pioneers such as Edgard Roquette-Pinto founded the Radio Society of Rio de Janeiro in 1923, focusing on education. In the 1930s and 1940s, radio was popularized with the Golden Age, marked by radionovelas, auditorium programs and popularization of popular music, consolidating itself as the main means of mass communication before TV.

And in our metaverse is no different, besides many works performed there is also broadcasting, and among this segment we have DRAGON RADIO.

The year that the idea of the Second Life radio and shop came up was on August 7, 2021. This idea was born from a dream to create something of its own within Second Life. With the help of family members, planning gradually every detail. This was a very important moment, because it marked the beginning of a dream that began small, but with much dedication and family support.

DRAGON DRYKE CITY RADIO came from an idea based on experience, from the founder, who was already developing a project on a radio and has worked as a DJ for a long time at Second Life. During that time, he learned how broadcasts work, how to encourage the audience and how to choose songs that please listeners. “In conversations with the family, I began to think that it would be very special to have a radio of my own, where I could play the songs that I like and also those that radio friends like to listen to.” This project also started with the desire to create a space of its own, where people could gather, listen to music, miss old songs and participate in special moments, such as tributes and birthdays. It was a dream that was born of passion for music.

At first, close friends were invited to listen to the first broadcasts, ask for music and help with radio broadcasting within Second Life. Gradually, a schedule routine was created and better organized each program, choosing musical styles and preparing the first special programming. Even with some difficulties at first, such as learning to move the systems and organize time, support from family and friends was crucial to continue and make the radio grow.

The radio offers varied music for all tastes, special moments, tributes, thematic programs and entertainment for listeners within Second Life. In addition, it offers special schedules on commemorative dates, birthdays and events dedicated to friends and listeners on the radio. It also provides a warm atmosphere where people can gather, chat, make friends and relive memories through old and present songs.

Radio also offers programs with different styles, such as religious music, classics of past decades, children's music and surprise programming, where listeners can suggest music and participate in musical choices. Another differential is the interaction with the public, allowing musical requests, live messages and special tributes, making each broadcast a unique and special moment for all who accompany.

The biggest audiences happen when there's programming forró and also when the Dragon Vintage programming happens, where our generation loves to miss the songs they used to listen to.

The radio works with a weekly schedule organized: Tuesday: religious songs (Catholic or gospel), with the partnership of Radio Dragon Dryke with Radio Maria Immaculate, from 22:00 to 23:00. Thursday: Dragon Vintage — children's songs and from the 1970s, 80s, 90s and 2000, making childhood and adolescence longing from 10:00 to 11:00. Saturday: Supply (DjTati Dragon Classics) — a surprise show where they play songs picked on time by DJ or radio friends.

The radio is maintained through donations from listeners and sponsors. “If you have a project in mind, as I had when creating the radio, go ahead. There will be many obstacles, but do not give up your dreams”
